Tesla recently released a video of its 4680 new battery and its production line on social media, stating that this production line will be used in super factories in Texas and Berlin, USA. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said: "Battery production is an important issue that really limits the sustainable energy development in the future."

Last October, Musk stated that the Berlin Super Factory in Germany would showcase a change in its car manufacturing methods, including a new cylindrical battery cell with a capacity of 4680, which can store more energy and is easier to manufacture. It is larger and simpler than the 2470 cylindrical batteries currently purchased by Tesla from Panasonic and other suppliers, which is of great significance in reducing battery costs.

By producing this type of battery, Tesla is expected to reduce battery costs by half and achieve its goal of increasing battery production by nearly 100 times by 2030. Drew Baglino, senior vice president of Tesla Powertrain and Energy engineering, said at last year's "Battery Day" that "larger battery cells, as well as other manufacturing and design changes that Tesla is making, will ultimately improve its vehicle's endurance by more than 50%."

The battery pack of electric vehicles usually contains thousands of battery cells, which is the most expensive part of the car. The Tesla battery pack needs to have a new shape and conceptual design.
