In the new energy vehicle market of China in 2015, the demand for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries increased the fastest, with an annual demand of 3.3628 million kWh. Compared with the 694400 kWh in 2014, the growth rate was as high as 384.29%; The share of cylindrical batteries in the automotive battery market has also increased from 17.28% in 2014 to 20.96% in 2015; At the same time, the application field of cylindrical batteries has also greatly expanded. In 2014, almost all of them were used in the pure electric passenger car market. In 2015, they also developed from scratch and achieved a large number of applications in the pure electric passenger car and pure electric special vehicle markets (both exceeding 800000 kWh).

In 2015, the main cylindrical power lithium battery products sold in China's new energy vehicle market included 32650, 26650, and 18650 models (note: the first two digits of the product model refer to the diameter of mm, the middle two digits refer to the height of mm, and the last 0 digits refer to the circle). Among them, the 32650 model has a capacity of 926600 kWh, mainly supplied by Watmar, accounting for 27.55% of the total demand for cylindrical batteries of 3.3628 million kWh; 26650 type products generate 94700 kWh, with Suzhou Yuliang being the most important supplier, accounting for 2.82%; The rest are 18650 products, accounting for nearly 70%, with numerous suppliers.

Square power lithium batteries have always been the main product in China's new energy vehicle market, and most important manufacturers have taken this path. In 2015, the demand for square type batteries in China's automotive power lithium battery market reached 9.9218 million kWh, an increase of 300.18% compared to 2.4793 million kWh in 2014; However, the market share of 61.85% is roughly equivalent to 61.70% in 2014. As for soft pack polymer batteries, although the demand for 2.756 million kWh in 2015 was also high, with a year-on-year increase of 226.46%, the market share has decreased to a certain extent: from 21.01% in 2014 to 17.18% in 2015.
