According to foreign media reports, the start-up Electriq~Global (formerly Terragenic) demonstrated its new fuel at the EcoMotion2018 "Smart Mobility Summit". According to the company, this is a safe and cheap clean fuel, in which water accounts for 60% of the total composition. Electriq uses its technology to extract hydrogen from water-based fuel and use hydrogen energy to generate electricity for vehicles. According to the information on the company's official website, this fuel enables the vehicle to achieve zero emissions. Compared with conventional fuel, the vehicle mileage can be doubled at half the price of the former.

Electroq~Global's system contains three core elements: liquid fuel, which can react with the catalyst (Electroq~Switch) to release the required hydrogen (as required), then capture the spent fuel, put it into a device, and then replenish hydrogen and water for recycling. The whole reaction process is very safe, realizing zero emission of vehicles. Under normal temperature and pressure, this water-based liquid fuel is very safe and stable.

Compared with lithium ion battery or compressed hydrogen technology, Electroq~Global's technology has halved the fuel cost of vehicles, but doubled the range. In addition, its energy density is 15 times the value of current Tesla vehicle batteries.

With the pure electric bus as the reference object, if the range of the former is 250km, the required charging time is 300 minutes (5 hours). When the bus adopts Electriq~Fuel, its endurance mileage will increase to 1000 km, and it may take less than 5 minutes to refuel.

Electroq~Global's technology maps the current "well to wheel" fuel filling ecosystem, which means that even if it is promoted globally in the future, there is almost no need for special infrastructure (unlike battery and compressed natural gas technology).
