Recently, the wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL (CATL), Tulingen Times (CATT), joined the BattLife project launched by local institutions. The project aims to use big data to study the multi-dimensional performance such as the life and reliability of power lithium batteries, and apply cutting-edge technologies to production, realizing the integration of industry and research.

The Francoff Institute of Ceramic Technology and Systems (IKTS), the initiator of the project, is one of the largest battery research institutions in Germany, and its branch Battery Innovation and Technology Center (BITC) is responsible for the operation of the project. As its first industrial partner, CATT will give full play to its own advantages in the BattLife project to obtain high-quality battery data, cooperate with the big data model established by BITC to analyze the full life cycle of batteries, and jointly explore cutting-edge battery innovation technologies. The research results will be directly applied to the production of CATT batteries, and the research and development results will be verified with production data. The two sides will jointly promote battery technology innovation, help Turingen become a battery hub in Europe and the world, and contribute to the construction of green industry in Germany.

Wolfgang Tiefensee, Minister of Economy and Science of Thuringia, said: in addition to good charging infrastructure, the service life of the battery is one of the prerequisites for the future promotion of electric vehicles. Therefore, BattLife will make an important contribution to the sustainable development of power lithium batteries. This project is also a model of integration of industry and research. In the past three years, we have made great efforts to this end. Our goal is not only to bring CATL to Thuringia, but also to carefully study to expand the application of battery and energy storage technology, so that Thuringia can become a leading battery center.

The relevant person in charge of CATT said that under the general trend of electric travel, CATT, as a member of the German industry, will take root in Germany's scientific research and industrial network, give play to its own advantages, and supply competitive new energy solutions for customers in Germany and even the world.
