Pole lug is a raw material for lithium-ion polymer battery products. For example, the cell phone battery, Bluetooth battery, notebook battery and so on that we use in our life need to use the pole ear.

The battery is divided into positive and negative poles. The ear of the pole is the metal conductor that leads the positive and negative poles out of the cell. Generally speaking, the ear of the positive and negative poles of the battery is the contact point during charging and discharging. This contact point is not the copper strip on the surface of the battery we see, but a connection inside the battery. The battery lug is divided into three kinds of materials. The positive electrode of the battery is made of aluminum (Al), the negative electrode is made of nickel (Ni), and the negative electrode is also made of nickel-plated copper (Ni-Cu). They are both made of film and metal strip.

The film is the insulating part on the pole lug. Its function is to prevent short circuit between the metal strip and the aluminum-plastic film during battery packaging, and to prevent leakage by heating (about 140 ℃) and fusing the aluminum-plastic film during packaging. A polar ear is sandwiched between two films. The films used in the market include black glue, white glue and single-layer glue. The commonly used black film is of three-layer structure: melanin, melting point 66 ℃; PE, melting point 105 ℃; PP, melting point 137 ℃.

The finished product packaging of polar ear is divided into disc type (the whole metal belt is wound into a disc after being added with film through the equipment) and plate type (the metal belt is cut into a single piece after being added with film, and then placed in a row with two thin transparent plastic sheets sandwiched in the middle).

However, the 46800 battery introduced by Tesla is a non-polar ear battery. It is said that this kind of battery is a revolutionary invention, with a 54% increase in mileage and a 56% reduction in cost. So, what is a non-polar ear battery?

The electrodeless ear battery is actually a battery without motor interface and Tab. It is essentially a lithium-ion battery. Therefore, this is not a new principle battery. Its innovation mainly lies in the layout and power supply of lithium-ion batteries.

Although its shape is similar to that of ordinary batteries and is also cylindrical, its internal structure is completely different. It is to make the positive and negative electrode and the battery chemical materials in the middle into thin films and fold them together, and then roll them up.

The electrodeless ear battery has four advantages:

1. Charged particles no longer need to wear thick batteries. As long as it penetrates a layer of thin film, its loss must be less.

2. The electrodes at both ends of the film are directly removed, instead of making two electrodes to lead the electricity. Instead, there is a long one at both ends of the film that can be used to lead the electricity, without the additional loss caused by the original installation of two electrodes.

3. The electric vehicle needs a large battery pack, and the battery has a heating problem. The traditional battery with pole ears will also have a "traffic jam" situation due to the small area of electric shock, which will lead to uneven heating. The electrodeless ear battery has a relatively average current output and a more uniform heat generation, which is more convenient for the overall heat dissipation.
