In June 2019, Northvolt completed an equity financing of 900 million euros, invested by Volkswagen Group.

In July 2020, BMW officially announced that it had signed a 2 billion euro (approximately 15.8 billion yuan) battery supply contract with Northvolt.

In addition, since the beginning of this year, Northvolt and Volkswagen have had a closer cooperation relationship.

In March, Northvolt won another order worth over $14 billion from Volkswagen Group.

On July 13th, Volkswagen Group announced its 2030 NEWAUTO strategy, which aims to accelerate its transformation into a software driven mobile travel service provider. In terms of battery supply, Volkswagen stated that it plans to establish a self-control battery supply chain by establishing new partnerships and covering all areas from raw materials to recycling.

To achieve this goal, Volkswagen plans to have a total planned production capacity of 240GWh in six battery factories in Europe by 2030. Currently, three factories have been identified, the first of which is located in Sherevteo, Sweden, and will be operated by Northvolt. Meanwhile, Volkswagen has recently invested an additional 500 million euros in the factory and started production with Northvolt in 2023.

In addition, Northvolt's factories include V? ster? A production line of S and Skellefte? After the construction of the factory, it will have a production capacity of 60GWh/year.

On June 8th this year, Northvolt announced that it had raised $2.75 billion (approximately RMB 17.578 billion) to expand its factory in Sweden from 40GWh to 60GWh, and its CEO had stated that the company's goal was to achieve approximately 150GWh of battery production by 2030.

Regarding the newly signed A and B project orders with Northvolt, New Zebang stated that the locking of future orders will be beneficial for ensuring the market demand of the company's bases in Poland and the Netherlands. This cooperation will further accelerate the company's expansion in the European market, and the smooth implementation of this project will enhance the company's competitiveness in the European market, which is of great significance for the implementation of the company's internationalization strategy.

1. Heidefu High Performance Fluorine Materials Project. This project belongs to the upstream extension of the organic fluorine chemical value chain, expanding the category of fluorine containing fine chemicals and functional materials to achieve high-end import substitution, which is an important measure for New Zebang to implement the fluorine chemical integration strategy;

2. Huizhou Zhoubang Phase III Project, Hunan Fubang New Lithium Salt Project, and Huai'an Lithium Battery Additive Project. These three projects are an extension of the value chain of battery chemicals, which will be conducive to strengthening the cost competitive advantage and stable supply guarantee of New Zebang's lithium battery electrolyte business;

3. The Polish Lithium Battery Electrolyte Project, Jingmen Lithium Battery Materials and Semiconductors Project, and Tianjin New Zebang Semiconductor Chemicals and Lithium Battery Materials Project have been successively completed and put into operation, providing sufficient production guarantee for the increasing market demand for New Zebang Semiconductor Chemicals and Lithium Battery Electrolytes.

On August 2nd, New Zebang announced that the company plans to use its wholly-owned subsidiary, Captchem Netherlands B.V. (hereinafter referred to as "New Zebang of the Netherlands"), as the main implementation entity, to invest in the construction of the New Zebang Lithium Battery Electrolyte and Materials Project in Muldek, the Netherlands, with a total investment of approximately 1.5 billion yuan.

The project is constructed in stages, with the first phase having a construction period of 3.5 years and is expected to gradually start production in the second half of 2024. The first phase of the project is fully put into operation, and the production of lithium battery electrolyte and carbonate solvent in New Zebang in the Netherlands will reach 50000 tons and 100000 tons respectively.

In terms of performance, according to the 2021 semi annual report, New Zebang achieved a revenue of 2.557 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 114.23%; The net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 437 million yuan, an increase of 83.85% year-on-year.
