High temperature energy storage is difficult for most cell factories

It is understood that there are currently about 30 companies in China with the production capacity of lithium-ion batteries for drones, and the drone market is also emerging in China, the United States, and Europe. He Longping said.

According to relevant attendees, Dajiang Technology has proposed a high-temperature storage regulation at the seminar based on the usage situation in different regions around the world. From the perspective of high-temperature storage conditions, after the battery pack is fully charged, it is stored in a 60 ℃ environment for 30 days. The battery (pack) is removed from the storage environment, and after the battery temperature drops to room temperature, it is subjected to a 0.5C rated capacity test at room temperature. The discharge time is not less than 1.5 hours, and the battery should not bulge, leak, rupture, ignite, smoke, or explode.

This regulation sparked heated discussions at the seminar. The Daily Economic News reporter noticed that this regulation alone has already blocked most battery cell factories from the drone battery industry.

He Longping also revealed that battery cell manufacturers find it too difficult. Dajiang Technology indeed has many strict requirements, but it is precisely because of this that Dajiang drones are highly recognized in both domestic and foreign markets.

Li Zhenqiang also told reporters that there are significant differences in the performance of lithium-ion battery products for drones in China. According to the above standards, only one or two companies in China can meet the requirements.

He believes that the regulations proposed by DJI Technology indicate that DJI has already locked in several suppliers, but it cannot be ruled out that DJI uses different suppliers to supply different products in its layout. Previously, a well-known drone battery company in the industry was notorious for its poor high-temperature storage performance and severe bulging. He Longping told reporters.

Li Zhenqiang stated that traditional lithium-ion batteries have poor stability in discharge and other performance in high-temperature environments, making it difficult to meet the requirements for high-temperature storage of unmanned aerial vehicles.
