In order to further improve range and optimize costs, CATL is accelerating research on CTC technology and plans to launch the fourth generation highly integrated CTC battery system around 2025. In the longer term, CATL is expected to be upgraded to the fifth generation intelligent CTC electric chassis system around 2028.

The naming principle is the same as CTP, but Chassis means chassis, which means that under CTC battery technology, the battery cells can be directly integrated onto the chassis, achieving a higher degree of integration.

According to CATL Chairman Zeng Yuqun's previous introduction, CTC technology will not only rearrange batteries, but also incorporate the three electrical systems, including motors, electronic control, and vehicle high-voltage systems such as DC/DC and OBC. In the future, CTC technology will further optimize power distribution and reduce energy consumption through intelligent power domain controllers.

He also emphasized that CATLCTC technology will enable new energy vehicles to compete directly with fuel vehicles in terms of cost, increase seating space, and improve chassis trafficability. In terms of battery life, CTC technology can minimize the weight and space of the battery pack by eliminating the need for cast battery packs, thereby enabling electric vehicles to have a range of at least 800 kilometers.
