Macrom, a German market research and consulting firm, has released a report that places the European market in the global opinion poll on residential storage system sales. It is reported that the number of systems sold in Europe has tripled in the past two years.

The consulting company further emphasized that Germany is the most important market for battery storage systems in Europe, especially for domestic manufacturers.

However, although German suppliers dominate the European market, the growth of Asian manufacturers is very significant. In fact, in addition to the popular German brands E3/DCGmbH, Kostal, SolarwattGmbH, SMASolarTechnologyAG, sonnenGmbH, there are other leading suppliers, including Israel's SolarEdgeTechnologies Inc., and Tesla, Inc. from the United States., Goodwe Power Technology Co., Ltd. and BYD Co., Ltd. in China and LG Chemical Co., Ltd. in South Korea are becoming more and more popular in Europe.

It is worth noting that in the UK, Asian suppliers have found a lucrative market because British customers are often more price sensitive and are reluctant to buy German systems that are usually more expensive. In fact, in Germany and Switzerland, Macrom said that more than 65% of its systems came from German manufacturers, and Asian suppliers accounted for more than 80% of the market share in the UK.

In general, the German market is still the most active market in the world, continuing to be in the central European market, and recently opened its 100000th residential storage system at a news conference held in the suburb of Berlin.

Analysts said that the storage market is characterized by sharp price fluctuations, and consumers' interest in storage systems will also fluctuate dramatically. This is mainly due to policy changes, which make it difficult to determine the cost-effectiveness of such systems. Analysts said that different levels of subsidies and feed in tariff schemes, or grid charges for self consumption of stored electricity, made the market vulnerable.

According to the report, Spain will become an important market in Europe in the future. Recently, a recent change in the government - more support for renewable energy than ever before - is driving this growing interest. Italy has also achieved impressive growth. From 2016 to 2017, the market grew by 70%, and this trend continues.
