As the world's largest single market for Jaguar Land Rover, the Chinese market accounts for nearly a quarter of its total. In September, Jaguar Land Rover's global sales reached 57114 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%, with Land Rover brand sales reaching 37968, a year-on-year decrease of 18.8%. At present, its October sales have not been announced yet. In the largest market share in China, Jaguar Land Rover has experienced consecutive months of decline in sales, which directly affects its global revenue.

Recently, Tata Motors of India released its second quarter revenue data. Tata Motors lost 10.49 billion rupees ($141.9 million) from July to September, with retail sales of Jaguar sedans and Land Rover SUVs dropping 13.2% to 130000 units.

The decline in sales in China has also prompted Jaguar Land Rover to temporarily suspend production at the largest factory in the UK - the Solihull factory. The importance of the Chinese market to Land Rover and Jaguar is self-evident, and the continuous decline in sales has also forced Jaguar and Land Rover to take it seriously. In the coming years, models including the Jaguar I-Pace and the new Range Rover Defender will be launched. And by 2020, Jaguar Land Rover will launch hybrid or electric versions of all models to adapt to the trend of electrification and intelligence in the Chinese automotive market.
