3 Conclusion

This article proposes a micro short circuit diagnosis method for battery packs to address the safety issues during their aging process. After a micro short circuit occurs in the battery, it will continuously consume electrical energy, causing the relative charging time of the micro short circuit monomer in the battery pack to increase with the number of charges, which is different from the normal monomer. This method analyzes the relative charging time of each monomer based on the charging data of the battery pack, which can determine whether there is a micro short circuit in the battery pack and determine the specific monomer of the micro short circuit.

This method only requires charging data and no testing under specific operating conditions to diagnose micro short circuits in the battery pack when locating the individual cells that have undergone micro short circuits. It does not affect the normal operation of the battery pack, is simple and easy to operate, and can be applied online. It can provide certain technical guidance for the preventive detection and safety application of the battery pack.
