After expert analysis, the temperature limit set for mobile lithium-ion batteries is generally between 40-60 degrees Celsius, and explosion-proof valves are usually marked on the batteries. High temperature resistant lithium-ion batteries can withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees Celsius. In general, lithium-ion batteries can withstand high temperatures such as 200 degrees, 500 degrees, and 800 degrees. However, in daily life, such high temperatures are rarely encountered. However, we can occasionally see battery damage during charging or excessive use of electrical appliances. Especially with the increasing number of smart devices, the batteries configured are bent, and there are up to 50 safety monitoring processes for safety detection alone. Among them, high-temperature projects exceed 50 degrees Celsius when the bent batteries are formed. In daily life, such temperatures are unlikely to come into contact with bent batteries.

Some large instruments and equipment require high-temperature resistant lithium-ion batteries. Due to its disadvantages such as environmental friendliness, low energy density, large size, short lifespan, and relatively heavy weight, lead-acid is now widely used as an important power supply system for equipment in newly developed products or upgraded batteries by businesses. In order to ensure the lifespan and safety reliability of lithium-ion batteries, advanced protection management systems are used inside high-temperature lithium-ion battery packs to prevent overcharging, over discharging, high-temperature operation, low-temperature charging, or short circuit damage, and even safety issues.

Low temperature lithium-ion battery refers to a lithium-ion battery that operates at a temperature below -20 ℃ and can meet the safety requirements of the national standard GB31241-2014 for lithium-ion batteries and battery packs for portable electronic products or the national special standard General Specification for lithium-ion battery packs. As for the working status of lithium-ion batteries under low temperature conditions, the impact is not small because the capacity of lithium-ion batteries will decrease at extremely low temperatures, resulting in shorter usage time. For example, when we use mobile phones in Northeast China in winter, we will feel a noticeable phenomenon of fast power loss. However, low-temperature lithium-ion batteries also have limited standards, and generally there is no problem with minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Internal adjustment

Place the temperature sensor in the most representative and significant temperature change location, especially at the highest and lowest temperatures, as well as in areas with significant heat accumulation in the center of lithium-ion battery packs.

◆ External adjustment

Cooling regulation: Currently, considering the complexity of battery pack thermal management structure, most of the methods used are simple air cooling. And considering the uniformity of heat dissipation, parallel ventilation is mostly used.

Heating adjustment: The simplest heating method is to add heating plates above and below the lithium-ion battery pack for heating, and to wrap heating wires around each lithium-ion battery pack or use heating films to wrap the entire package around the lithium-ion battery pack for heating.

1. The storage temperature should not exceed 20-25 degrees Celsius.

2. Before storage, charge the battery for the last time, check the voltage of each battery to ensure that the voltage of the batteries in the battery pack is basically consistent (with an error of+/-0.01V), then discharge and release approximately 50-60% of the electricity, and then save.

3. If the shutdown lasts for more than one month, then check the voltage of each battery regularly every month to ensure that the lowest battery voltage is not lower than 3V. If it is lower than 3V, proceed with the second point of charging and discharging process.

From the perspective of protecting lithium-ion batteries, we can activate new lithium-ion batteries before they are officially used. Activation involves multiple charging and discharging processes, such as 3-5 times. After each charge, the discharge on the appliance does not exceed 70% of the capacity. This process can make the battery's voltage more stable! In fact, lithium-ion batteries have already been activated before leaving the factory, and it is completed in a professional charging and discharging cabinet. Therefore, our own activation is important to be able to detect potential quality issues with lithium-ion battery packs early!

After activation, we can use it normally. During use, please note that the maximum current of the appliance cannot exceed the maximum continuous discharge current of the battery; A speed controller with low voltage protection function should be used (the voltage of lithium-ion battery cells should not be lower than 3V); The maximum temperature of the usage environment shall not exceed 50-60 degrees Celsius; Batteries operating at high currents must maintain ventilation and cooling.
