Material 2: Polyethylene terephthalate

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a material with excellent mechanical, thermodynamic, and electrical insulation properties. The most representative product of PET diaphragms is a composite film developed by Degussa Company in Germany, which is based on PET diaphragms and coated with ceramic particles. It exhibits excellent heat resistance and a closed cell temperature of up to 220 ℃.

The melting point of electrospun PET membrane is much higher than that of PE membrane, at 255 ℃, with a maximum tensile strength of 12Mpa, a porosity of 89%, a liquid absorption rate of 500%, which is much higher than the Celgard membrane on the market, and an ion conductivity of 2.27 × 10-3Scm-1, and its cycling performance is also better than that of Celgard membrane. After 50 cycles of battery cycling, the porous fiber structure of PET membrane still remains stable.

Material 3: Polyphenylene benzodiazole

The new polymer material PBO (poly (p-phenylenebenzodiazole) is an organic fiber with excellent mechanical properties, thermal stability, and flame retardancy. Its matrix is a linear chain structure polymer that does not decompose below 650 ℃, with ultra-high strength and modulus, making it an ideal heat-resistant and impact resistant fiber material.

Due to the extremely smooth surface and strong physical and chemical inertness of PBO fibers, their morphology is difficult to change. PBO fibers are only soluble in 100% concentrated sulfuric acid, methylsulfonic acid, fluorosulfonic acid, etc. After strong acid etching, the original fibers on PBO fibers will peel off from the main trunk, forming a segmented morphology, which improves the specific surface area and interfacial bonding strength.

Material 4: Polyimide

Polyimide (PI) is also one of the polymers with excellent comprehensive performance, with excellent thermal stability, high porosity, and good high-temperature resistance. It can be used for a long time at -200~300 ℃.

Due to the strong polarity of PI and good wettability of electrolyte, the diaphragm produced exhibits excellent liquid absorption rate. The PI diaphragm manufactured by electrospinning has lower impedance and higher rate performance compared to the Celgard diaphragm. After 100 cycles of charging and discharging at 0.2C, the capacity retention rate is still 100%.
