Based on the theme of this conference, as a power battery enterprise, I would like to share with you our current situation of the development of the new energy vehicle industry and some policy suggestions.

My report is divided into four parts:

Firstly, the promotion of new energy vehicles.

As we all know, in recent years, under the guidance of national policies and encouragement, our country's new energy vehicles have achieved rapid development. From 22000 vehicles in 2013 to 818000 vehicles installed in 2017, with passenger cars as the main market, an increase of 58% compared to last year. The development is very fast. At the same time, there is also a problem that can be seen in the entire vehicle industry, where investment is still very hot. From the current perspective, investment growth is also very fast, including from power batteries to whole vehicles. If we look at power batteries, the annual growth is very fast. By 2017, according to the production capacity plan, our overall vehicle production capacity has reached more than 11 million vehicles, which significantly exceeds the current market demand, Of course, this is the planned production capacity.

The situation with our power batteries is the same. From 2013 to 2017, our overall planned production capacity reached 228GWh, and in 2017, we only used 37GWh. The market share of the top five power battery enterprises with installed capacity was 61% in 2017, and has increased to 71% by 2018. From the first two years, our market share with BYD has increased from 44% in 2017 to 63% in the first half of 2018. It is estimated that the situation in the second half of the year is not much different from that of the first half, so the leading effect is very obvious, The concentration of enterprises ranking high in shipment volume is very high, and our entire production is currently very tight, with increasing demand.

Let me give you a brief introduction to the development of Ningde Times. We are based on two industries, one is power batteries, and the other is the development of energy storage batteries. Our research and production mainly focus on this area. Our overall development goal is to become the safest lithium battery in the world, which is our bottom line. With the increase in market share of power batteries and electric vehicles, safety factors have become increasingly important. Therefore, ensuring the safety of our entire product from design, product safety, production safety, and after-sales safety is a very important product design concept in terms of ensuring the safety of power batteries and energy storage batteries from design to production, to use, and to after-sales safety.

In recent years, sales have grown very rapidly. By 2017, our sales were close to 12GWh. With the increase in the number of passenger cars and overseas brand products, CATL will continue to maintain a very rapid growth in sales of power batteries in the future.

In the future, CATL will focus on the following five directions for power batteries and strive to become the world's leading technology in these areas.

1. For ultra-high energy density batteries, our country's 13th Five Year Plan aims to achieve a target of 300 watt hours/kg. Currently, we are working on lithium iron phosphate. By 2018, we aim to achieve 160 watt hours/kg, and it is expected to exceed 180 watt hours/kg by 2020. In terms of three factors, we aim to achieve mass production of 240 watt hours/kg this year, and mass production of around 270 watt hours/kg by 2020. All discussions are about mass production.

2. We are vigorously developing long-life batteries. For the batteries used in energy storage in the future, we aim to achieve a single cycle of more than 15000 times, with a service life of more than 15 years. In terms of passenger cars, we roughly need to fulfill our commitment to users, such as in taxis, we need to make promises of 5 years and 500000 kilometers.

3. Multiple secure and reliable technologies ensure that our products are absolutely safe and reliable.

4. Strong environmental adaptability. In the future, one of the reasons for batteries is that we must have a rating of IP68 in the battery pack, and the other is that we will use a temperature range of -30 ° C to -60 ° C.

5. A very, very important technology is fast charging technology. Starting from the second half of this year, our shipments can generally achieve fast charging in 15 minutes. If needed in the future, we hope to be able to fully charge in 10 minutes.

From commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and energy storage, Ningde Times has gradually entered the customer base and formed a good strategic partnership. Many of our projects are already in talks for shipment in 2025, and we are currently working smoothly in entering the supply chain of state-owned enterprises.

At the same time, Ningde Times also holds a controlling stake in a company called Bangpu Recycling, which is engaged in battery recycling. By 2017, they had achieved the largest recycling scale and highest recycling rate in China. In 2017, our raw material recycling rate in Bangpu Recycling reached 98.5%, and we are also one of the largest producers of NCM precursors in the world, with an overall annual production capacity of approximately 20000 tons. So our current technical reserves are quite mature.

Give some suggestions to the industry. Because the subsidy is currently declining and the cost of raw materials is increasing, we hope that our prices can decrease faster for the whole vehicle. At present, there is still a significant economic gap between new energy vehicles and traditional vehicles. The purchase and use of new energy vehicles still require stable policy support from the country. Gradually, we have established a comparative advantage in new energy vehicles and promoted them.

1. In terms of tax leverage, some adjustments can be made to increase the recycling of traditional energy vehicles, increase support for the construction and operation of new energy vehicle charging, reduce our charging costs, lower the cost of using electric vehicles, and make some subsidies for the gap in national subsidy funds.

2. Differentiated traffic management. We are currently looking at countries with road rights management in Beijing and Shanghai, where electric vehicles are being promoted more effectively. Such traffic management methods may have a significant promoting effect on the use of electric vehicles. In terms of opening up road rights and reducing tolls, we may be able to do better.

3. Adjustment of subsidy policies. We hope to reasonably control the decline of subsidy policies and the pace of improving technical indicators based on the development of the industry, adhere to supporting the strong and improving the competitiveness of the industry, and avoid significant policy fluctuations that may lead to better adjustments in the entire industry.

We have a very important job that we haven't discussed before. In the early stage, our policies were very focused on promotion and incentives, and the regulatory system in the use process was not perfect enough. With the continuous expansion of the current inventory, we need to improve the management and monitoring of the usage process as soon as possible to ensure the safe and healthy development of the industry.

1. Our policy safety inspection system is not comprehensive enough for new energy vehicles, and is already very comprehensive for traditional vehicles. Therefore, the existing motor vehicle safety inspection system, with its inspection cycle and inspection items, is not entirely suitable for new energy vehicles. Therefore, we should establish a safety inspection system that is suitable for new energy vehicles, such as high-voltage electrical appliances and power batteries, as soon as possible, That is to say, we should conduct annual inspections on new energy vehicles, determine their timing and projects, and establish a mandatory scrapping system for new energy vehicles to avoid a large number of safety accidents caused by overdue service. This is also an urgent matter, because in the early days, many cars were released, such as our 5-year warranty or warranty for 200000 kilometers or 300000 kilometers. Now, there are quite a few cars, especially ride hailing and special vehicles, which exceed their resale value. It is very important for us to manage these cars. Otherwise, using them beyond the warranty period can be a form of abuse, with significant safety hazards, Especially many cars made in the early days.

2. We also need to establish standards for the storage and transportation of power batteries as soon as possible. As the quantity of power batteries increases, their storage and transportation require standardized management. But it can't pass anymore. After passing, it will increase a lot of storage and transportation costs. You don't care about it. It is also a dangerous goods, so these systems need to be greatly strengthened. Therefore, it is important to strengthen the supervision of the stock market, especially the inspection and certification of some electric vehicles used in the market. Therefore, this is something we hope our industry can quickly do in the near future.
