1、 Preparation:

Find a ventilated place, and prepare polymer batteries, scissors, ticket holders, toothpicks, 705 transparent silicone rubber, transparent tape, syringes, and infusion needles with a section of plastic tube to be processed (must be the smallest);

2、 Preparation for air extraction:

Connect the syringe with the infusion needle, insert the hand-held needle at a suitable position at the lithium battery seal, and then fix the needle with adhesive tape to keep it from moving. Use a toothpick to take a small amount of 705 silicone rubber and apply it near the needle to prevent air leakage.

3、 Extraction gas:

Pull the syringe to extract the gas from the battery. After a full tube is drawn, clamp the plastic tube of the needle with a bill clip, separate the syringe from the needle, and discharge the gas (although the gas in the battery is non-toxic, it smells bad, so find a ventilated place). Then connect the syringe with the needle and repeat the operation.

4、 Sealing:

After many operations, the aluminum film of the battery will gradually tighten and close to the battery body, and the battery will become very hard. After the gas cannot be extracted and the inside of the battery is close to the vacuum state, clamp the plastic tube behind the needle head with a clip, cut a small piece of (1cm square) transparent tape with scissors, stick it to the needle hole, press the needle tightly (like our usual infusion needle), and the operation is completed.

5、 Quality inspection:

Because the pinhole is very small and sealed with silicone rubber and transparent tape, the gas will not enter the battery again. After a few hours of curing of silicone rubber, test the battery. First, fully charge and discharge the battery with a small current for several times. If there is no problem of bubbling, the treatment is completed. If there is still gas generated, it can be operated again according to the above process. If it still cannot be solved, it means that the battery has been scrapped. I bought more than ten gas-filled polymer lithium batteries at a low price on the shopping website. After the above treatment, they have all returned to normal use with good results.

It depends on the material. If it is lithium iron phosphate, the voltage should be normal. If it is ternary material, it means that the battery may not be normal. It is estimated that it cannot be used.
