According to the research report, the rapid increase in the shipments of lithium ion batteries for power and energy storage drives the demand for electrolyte and lithium hexafluorophosphate to continue to grow. It is estimated that the global demand for lithium hexafluorophosphate will be 30800 tons, 40000 tons and 53600 tons respectively from 2018 to 2020, with a compound growth rate of 32%.

At present, lithium hexafluorophosphate has far met the market demand. With the future market development, the price of lithium hexafluorophosphate will gradually decline. Additives generally meet the existing needs, including solvents, but need to be further improved. At present, the electrolyte has covered all materials, including the demand for voltage and the demand for use environment, but there are still many problems in the middle, which need to be solved gradually.

The electrolyte is composed of lithium salts, high-purity organic solvents, necessary additives and other raw materials, which is critical to the specific capacity, operating temperature range, cycle efficiency and safety performance of the battery. Electrolyte accounts for 5-15% of the cost of lithium-ion battery, and the gross profit margin of the product is 25-30%.
