SMM August 27th News: The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Administration of Market Regulation have issued the "Management Measures for the Cascade Utilization of New Energy Vehicle Power Batteries". The method proposes to encourage cooperation between secondary utilization companies and power battery production companies, strengthen information sharing, utilize existing recycling channels, and efficiently recycle waste power batteries for secondary utilization.

This method also encourages cooperation and sharing of recycling systems between cascade utilization companies and new energy vehicle production companies to improve recycling efficiency. In addition, this method explicitly states that if a company or owner of a tiered product causes an accident due to unauthorized disassembly, dismantling, scrapping, disposal, or transfer to another third party, they shall bear corresponding responsibilities.

And in the future, an expert committee on the cascade utilization of new energy vehicle power batteries will be established, responsible for coordinating major technical issues in the management process of cascade utilization of new energy vehicle power batteries, supporting relevant policy research, industry information analysis, and other work.

It is reported that this measure will be implemented 30 days from the date of issuance.
