Comparison of charging modes

The design of nickel hydrogen battery chargers and lithium battery chargers is based on voltage in principle, and the charging methods for designs with or without memory effects are also different.

In terms of voltage, the charging termination voltage of nickel hydrogen battery chargers is generally set to 1.4V. Some chargers can also extend up or down a bit. Depending on the condition of the battery, if the battery discharge is below 1.1V, there is a possibility that it cannot be charged. The highest 1.4V is the upper limit that cannot be exceeded under normal circumstances. For nickel hydrogen batteries, discharging at 1.1V is not very meaningful because capacity replenishment cannot be obtained during charging. Lithium ion battery chargers are generally produced one-on-one, which means that a single lithium-ion battery is designed with a rated voltage of 3.6V~3.7V and a charging termination voltage of 4.1V~4.2V. The voltage of the lithium-ion battery pack design is not very similar for different series and parallel situations.

In use, due to the different internal structures of lithium-ion batteries and nickel hydrogen batteries, the composition material of lithium-ion batteries is active substances, so there is no memory effect. Overcharging should be avoided. And nickel hydrogen batteries are different.
