This kind of treatment is not available in every region, which limits the sales of lithium-ion bicycles.

The quality of lithium batteries themselves still needs to be improved. Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries place great emphasis on battery consistency and stability in the assembly of battery cells. For example, when using 18650 type batteries, in series parallel connections, absolute consistency should be maintained for the voltage of each cell. If the voltage of the battery cells is inconsistent, the short board effect will appear. Many whole vehicle companies often tamper with the choice of chargers in order to reduce costs; Those small lithium-ion battery companies also tend to tamper with protective boards and battery cells. As a result, it is obvious that the lithium-ion battery has not been used within the specified warranty period, and the capacity of the lithium-ion battery can no longer guarantee the range of the lithium-ion bicycle.

It is reported that the highest repair rate for lithium batteries used in electric vehicles in China can reach around 13%, and the lowest is also around 5%. Nowadays, many lithium battery companies for electric bicycles operate on a profit and loss basis, with almost no pure profit from battery companies due to severe overcapacity and large-scale enterprises fighting price wars to the death.
